Artist statement:

I love how history tells a story. Everything has a beginning and end. The best part is discovering when and how it happened. My desire is to restore, reuse, and upcycle to reveal beauty.

In my art making, I approach everything like an archeologist. Using my hands to work with the material and my sight to observe and investigate. I began this process as a child, in the backyard digging up glass bottle artifacts. I am always examining found objects that contain evidence and details of life.

A piece of me has been brought out of hiding. As I learn new patterns that bring freedom, the old are left behind. Similar with nature as animals molt their skin, the only thing that remains is the outer shell. In my current work I am exploring the beauty and fear of intimacy
